Decatur County Bridge No. 162 | Bridge Rehabilitation

DECATUR COUNTY, IN—BLN completed the contract plans for the rehabilitation of the Westport Covered Bridge. The bridge is currently open only to pedestrian traffic. The structure is on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered a historic point of interest.

The Structure

Carrying Layton Road over Sand Creek, this covered timber truss was originally constructed in 1880. It is 130 feet long and is a single-span structure at 111.5 feet.

In addition to Bridge Rehabilitation services, BLN provided Survey, Environmental, Right-of-Way Engineering and Right-of-Way Services.
